Since 2013 BSIbio has been testing our certified compostable packaging on-site at real-world compost facilities. This research was first shared in our 5-part blog series ‘A Compost Story” and in 2017 we co-authored and published a peer-reviewed paper in International Biodeterioration & Biodegradation (2017) titled “Field testing of certified compostable foodware and packaging in municipal composting facilities,” contributing real-world data to bridge lab certification with field disintegration outcomes. This foundational research helped shape the methodology for the Compostable Field Testing Program.

Also in 2017, we published on this field testing research in BioCycle magazine for the first time!
